SKILLED REGIONAL PROVISIONAL SUBCLASS 489 VISA REQUIREMENTS
This Visa is for Skilled Worker applicants who wish to immigrate to Australia and choose to reside in a particular regional area of Australia.
The main highlight of this visa is that it is a four year provisional work visa. But, you will have all the rights as like an Australian Permanent Resident. The main advantage of this visa is that the candidate will get additional 10 points. Therefore, even the candidate who can score only 55 may be eligible for this visa.

This visa holder must live in the regional area of the State or Territory for minimum 2 Years. After two years of their stay in that State or Territory, they will become eligible to apply for the permanent residence and then they can move to anywhere in Australia.
Basic Requirements
- Be less than 45 years of age when you get invitation
- Be in the short term skills list
- Do skills assessment by the relevant assessing authority
- Have at least competent English, but it varies based on the occupation
- Score at least 65 on the points test, it varies based on each state
- Have applied for state or territory sponsorship and got their approval or sponsored by an eligible relative living in a designated area of Australia.
- Be invited to apply for the visa by DHA.
- Pass the health and character test.
