Provincial Nomination Programs (PNP) is for Skilled Worker applicants who wish to immigrate to Canada and choose to reside in a particular province of Canada. Many Canadian provinces have created specific skilled worker programs for those intending to live and work in their particular province or territory. Each province have specific skill shortage list and who fall in this category and meeting their criteria can apply.
Candidates who find difficulty to score higher CRS score by obtaining provincal nomination can recieve 600 point in CRS (comprehensive ranking system). It is a high rank in express entry pool of Canadian immigration and thus receive immediate invitation to apply for permanent residency visa.These days, IRCC is giving provisions to invite more candidates through PNPs. As a result, the provinces are looking in the Express Entry pool in order to invite candidates from the Express Entry pool.
Over last few years and months, provinces have been using their Express Entry-aligned PNP streams to find suitable candidates to fill the skill shortage of specific provinces. Provinces like Ontario, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan have started inviting candidates through their own Express Entry-aligned PNP streams and other provinces have also been on board, issuing nomination certificates to candidates in the Express Entry pool. Some provinces giving priority to those who have close relatives in particular province.
