NEW ZEALAND PERMANENT RESIDENT VISA REQUIREMENTS / BENEFITS
One can apply for this visa if he/she is a resident of NZD (either resident visa or residence permit) continuously for a period of 24 months. At the time of applying for this visa, the applicant should have a resident visa or have held it in the past 3 months.
The applicant should have met any conditions on their resident visa. It may include spending a minimum number of days in NZD, Keeping money invested in NZD, Travelling to and from NZD only for the time allowed by your resident visa, working only in a particular job/with particular employer etc.
If you spend at least 184 days in each of the last 2 years in NZD, the applicant will meet the requirement of commitment to New Zealand.
